Tablao Flamenco Abanilla
Tablao Flamenco, traditional Flamenco in a genuine setting..
Spanish Culture, Gipsy Culture, Style, Authenticity and Passion. Qualities you will not fail to appreciate after a visit to the Gipsy Cave in Abanilla.
Situated in Murcia, a Province rich in agriculture famous for its production of oranges, lemons, almonds and olive-trees, you will also find in the mountains around Abanilla, lots of caves. It is a desert with an oasis of palm trees, often referred to as the “Murcian Palestineâ€.
Abanilla is a very old village with steep, narrow streets and no traffic lights. It’s a taste of Spain from the last century where, at any minute, you might expect to bump into a vintage car or even a donkey. You will meet lots of friendly, kind and helpful people in the village which even has a renovated washery where some women still wash their clothes by hand.
In the heart of Abanilla village you will see an imposing Statue of Jesus on the summit of a mount. Behind & beneath the Statue, will be found the Gipsy cave, La Toná. Upon entering the cave you immediately feel the energy radiating from within. The decor in the cave is traditionally Spanish and complements our flamenco show. The most important thing for us is to convey to you, our audience, the passion of the Spanish and, in particular, that of the flamenco culture.
Before the show there will be a brief explanation, in English, about the history of flamenco, the difficult life of the Gypsies and the meaning of the Gypsy cave.
Inside the cave it is like a small theatre, enabling you to see, in every detail, the expressions on the faces of the artists and the movements of their hands and feet. Our guests feel a part of the show itself, enjoying every moment, which culminates in an explosion of energy experienced by everyone.
If you are interested in the real Spain and the real flamenco, then come to the Gypsy cave La Toná and experience a night full of passion and emotion.
Welcome to the real Spain, Welcome to La Toná.
