A bargain ...at €250,000

So, you think that the property market has been going through a rough time..

So, you think that the property market has been going through a rough time the last few years. Well, a person has just paid almost €250,000 for a building that doesn't exist.

An online gamer bought a virtual space station and looks set to turn his digital investment int a massive profit in the very near future.

It is the highest amount ever paid for a piece of pixel property. "Buzz Erik Light-year" (to use his online handle) bought these very pricey pixels in the web based online game Planet Calypso at a web game auction.

Planet Calypso is a online multiplayer contest and has close to a million users. It does not cost anything to play but you can buy and sell services. You do this with your Project Entropia Dollars?

Now, here comes the weird bit. PED's are actually worth something? At the current exchange rate 10 PED's will cost you around €0.70.

A stunning investment opportunity

"Buzz", a Canadian, will now generate income from his virtual investment by charging other players to use the services and facilities at his space station.

"This was a fantastic opportunity, Planet Calypso is one of the few safe investments in the present economy said Buzz. He also found the love of his life in the game with whom he now lives together in "real life".

You may think that this strange but even stranger is that the developers of the game believe that he could be in profit in less than two years.

Well we can finally thank the virtual world for one thing; we now know that stupidity has finally become a tangible asset and we can now put a price on.
