What is a Conversation Exchange?

Well, the best way to explain it is through an example.

Michael is from Liverpol and has recently moved to Macisvenda. His Spanish is a bit patchy and he would like to improve it. Catalina is from Abanilla and he is learning English, but he never has the opportunity to listen and speak to native English speakers.

Now, Michael and Catalina could help each other out. For example they can meet up once a week and have a conversation exchange, and speak half an hour in English and half an hour in Spanish.

There is no cost or homework involved and you learn the language in a social environment. Furthermore, you are more likely to learn slang and other things about a culture that you do not usually learn in a formal language class.

Este tipo de intercambio de idiomas es conocido como intercambio de conversación. Puedes practicar un idioma encontrándote con personas cuya lengua madre es la que deseas practicar que vivan cerca de ti.

Bueno, la mejor manera de explicarlo es con un ejemplo. Michael es de Liverpool y se ha trasladado recientemente a Macisvenda. Su español es un poco flojo y él quisiera mejorarlo. Catalina es de Abanilla y está aprendiendo inglés, pero
nunca tiene la oportunidad de escuchar y hablar con nativos. Ahora, Michael y Catalina podrían ayudarse uno a otro. Por ejemplo pueden quedar una vez por semana y tener un intercambio de conversación hablando media hora en inglés y media en español. No hay gastos o deberes y se aprende la lengua en un ambiente social. Además, es más probable aprender argot y otras cosas sobre una cultura que generalmente no se aprende en una clase de lengua formal.
