The most important Clock in the world
The most important Clock in the world goes back 1min..
As a timepiece The Doomsday clock does not actually exist. It is a symbolic clock face that was created in 1947 at the University of Chicago to visualise how close to world disaster we are and, as of January 2010, the Doomsday Clock reads 11:54.
The only place you’ll see it is on cover of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists on which it has appeared since its inception. The first cover was designed by Martyl Langsdorf who was the wife of one of the scientists that worked on the Manhattan project. Since its introduction in June 1947 the clock has changed 19 times
Originally it represented the threat of nuclear war but has, since 2007, included developments in the sciences and climate changing technologies that could result in irreversible harm to mankind.
