Pinoso in valencia is in the top 5 richest towns in Spain due to its production of marble, granite, almonds and local wines. Marble is Pinoso's most important economic product and it's Mount Coto area is the largest area of limestone marble in Spain, occupying an area of about 10 km2.
The marble, called locally as the "cream-ivory" has been produced since the 1950's. The Alicante province produces over 25% of the marble production in Spain, of this figure Pinoso produces over 97% from Mont Coto.
Pinoso valencia is situated approx 45kms inland from Alicante and the famous and hugley popular Costa Blanca. Pinoso, also known as El Pinos is named after the pine trees that cover the panoramic mountain ranges that surround the area in abundance.
There are two Neighboring towns of Elda and Elche (Alicante region) and Jumilla and Yecla (Murcia region) are both famous for the manufacture of wine and leather goods including luxury furniture and shoes.
The area enjoys breathtaking panoramic views of rolling mountains and open plains and is serviced by the two main airports of Alicante and San Javier both are a 45 minute and 70 minute drive respectively. With routes from the majority of UK airports and budget airlines. There is a new airport under construction 45 minutes away.
The very popular beach resorts or Benidorm and Torrevieja are within very easy reach from Pinoso, at these resorts are attractions for the young at heart. A short drive away is the famous wine making town of Jumilla (Murcia region). The wine of Jumilla can be found in UK supermarkets and the town holds it's famous wine fiesta each August, during which the madding crowd is sprayed with wine while partaking of free local vino and the fountain in the main square flows freely with local claret in abundance.
Golf is also becoming very popular inland, with several courses planned over the next few years. For Golfers there are a number of established and famous courses.
Pinoso Monuments:
The clock tower is the most original building. The Church contains an unusual image of the Virgen del Remedio (Virgin Healer).
Pinoso Festivities:
From the 1-10 of August the Pinoso fiesta is held in honour of Our Lady the Healer with vaquillas (bullfights with young bulls) and a floral offering.

The Cabezo de la Sal, with a mine with red and white walls. The Sierra del Coto, with marble quarries. A convent in the district of Encebras.
