JFM Radio Abanilla
JFM Radio Abanilla went on-air over the Internet and on 106.7FM in Abanilla in May 2008 promising to play classic tracks and today's best music... it’s a promise we intend to stick to! We're the station that plays the music we all love - and more of it.
JFM Radio Abanilla is completely run by volunteers from different communities, and it's their support that keeps us on air and provides facilities for our listeners. Local businesses, in return, gain an affordable, focussed advertising platform to help them grow and become successful.
Over the coming months JFM Radio Abanilla will be offering an exciting mix of music, chat, humour, interviews, major competitions and International, National and Regional News. We pride ourselves on interactive, upfront and entertaining programming.
With something for everyone, we aim to make JFM the number one internet station for local people who live and work in Abanilla.
JFM Radio Needs New Volunteers
Looking for a new hobby? Looking for something to do in the evenings? Looking to share your musical tastes with others? We are always on the lookout for new presenters, they come from all walks of life.
This is not just a young persons vocation. Some of our volunteers are over thirty/forty and take to the task easily.
We are not after professional broadcasters, slick presentation or the latest disco DJ.
We want individuals with a helping hand and a good sense of humour who are team players. If you are looking for a hobby or something to do in the evenings then this could be just right for you. We will train you in the art of broadcasting and get you to the required standard at a pace which is comfortable.
If you or someone you know could give one evening every week and like meeting people then get in touch and find out more (full training given).
Duties of a Presenter
New presenters will be trained alongside full members of staff and after training is completed, you will be presenting and making our own shows, and opportunities will exist for you to participate in special programs.
How Long Will Training Take?
Often asked and it's easier to answer “how long is a bit of string?" Everyone is individual and will learn at their own pace. Presenting and making programs is not rocket science. It’s not down to an average number of months or time in the studio, it's down to the individual.
What Will I Get Out Of Being a JFM Radio Presenter?
JFM Radio is an essential part of local Spanish life. It’s not only the praise from local residents but the knowledge you have been able to entertain and give everyone a real buzz. In addition you will make new friends and become part of a voluntary team dedicated to providing a professional radio service for our listeners.
